Nether Wasdale
Nether Wasdale is the beautiful hamlet situated at the southern end of Wastwater, sheltered by the magnificent Screes and looking down the length of the Wasdale valley towards Great Gable, Yewbarrow, & Lingmell which is such a classic vista that it is used as the symbol of the Lake District National Park.
The hamlet itself (which is sometimes referred to on the maps as Strands) is very well equipped for the visitor despite its small size.
Food and refreshments are readily available and the area boasts some lovely lower level and riverside walks
